Water scarcity is the number one environmental risk in India and a growing crisis in Pakistan and Malawi. In India, a staggering 163 million people still lack access to safe drinking water. Pakistan is facing a national emergency in 2025, with over 22 million people affected by drought and severe water shortages. In Malawi, four million people struggle every day without clean water. As Margaret from Thipa Village in Malawi shares, “We rarely do vegetable gardens because of water. At my age, can I fetch water from a distance and pour it into the garden? But when the water is near, we make gardens and grow different crops. Our kids and grandkids will grow healthy.”
