For many families in Mchinji District, Malawi, a visit to the doctor once meant hours of walking, high transport costs, or going without care entirely. Today, that is changing thanks to the Health Department of Our Aim Foundation (OAF).
Healthcare That Reaches Rural Communities
OAF operates two vital healthcare facilities: the Tongozala Holistic Community Center (HCC) and the newly inaugurated Nafuse Health Center (NHC) in the remote village of Mbewa. Together, they serve more than 20,000 people across 100 rural villages, delivering accessible, affordable, and community-centered care.
At HCC, patients receive doctor consultations, primary care, and preventive health services close to their homes. NHC extends this reach to a population that previously had almost no access to medical services, bringing essential care to the doorstep of those who need it most.
Comprehensive Services Saving Lives
Our clinics provide maternal and newborn care, emergency and outpatient treatment, and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Community health education and counseling help families prevent illness, understand their health, and make informed decisions.
Innovation Beyond the Clinic Walls
To reach even the most remote villages, OAF uses mobile clinics and telehealth programs. These services connect patients with real-time medical consultations, diagnostic support, and specialist care, bridging the healthcare divide in rural Malawi.
