Stella Jailosi is a 7-year-old girl who comes from a very poor family, living in Dress Village located in Mchinji district in Malawi. She lives with her parents, two brothers and a sister in a small, dilapidated house with a door made of grass, a window which is covered by an old burlap sack, a thatched roof, mud bricks and a dirt floor. The home has no electricity for lighting. The family lives in darkness during most of the time they spend inside.Stella’s father is very old. He is a farmer, like many people in the community. He provides for Stella’s family by growing maize and groundnuts. However, due to lack of supplies like fertilizer and water, his crop has produced an extremely low yield. Stella’s family has had very little to eat this season as a result.Stella is a very promising student. She is in standard three at a primary school which is 1km away from her home. She is an enthusiastic learner and participant in school, and her raised hand is a fixture in the classroom. She says she wants to be a police officer when she gets older, so that she can help people.Apart from her parents, Stella does not have anyone that provides support for her. A kind sponsor could make such a great impact on this young girl’s life – it could make all the difference in her life. Consider donating to Our AIM and sponsoring Stella today!
