New Wheels, New Dreams: Chisomo’s Journey to Independence and Joy
In May, a ray of hope shone on Kangulu Village when Nafuse Health Centre, with the support of Our AIM Foundation, stepped in to change the life of 9-year-old Chisomo Samuel. Chisomo’s childhood has been marked by challenges most of us can hardly imagine. At just four years old, she battled cerebral malaria—a fight that left her with physical disabilities, making it difficult for her to move freely, play with friends, or even attend school like other children her age.
For years, Chisomo’s world was limited, her dreams held back by the simple fact that she couldn’t get around on her own. But the team at Nafuse Health Centre saw her need and took action. They arranged for the donation of a wheelchair, a gesture that has opened up a new world for Chisomo.
Now, with her new wheelchair, Chisomo can finally join her classmates at school and play with other children in her village. Her parents have noticed a remarkable transformation—their daughter is more confident, happier, and eager to participate in the life around her. The joy and independence she has gained have touched not only her family, but the entire community, inspiring hope and unity.
This act of kindness is a testament to Nafuse Health Centre’s commitment to inclusive healthcare. By reaching out to the most vulnerable and providing practical, life-changing support, they are helping to build a future where every child, like Chisomo, has the chance to thrive.
