Distributions of Ramadan Ration Packs to 400 Deserving Families of Tharparkar

A large number of people have lost their lives due to a lack of food in Tharparkar. Tharparkar’s dire condition is no secret to the people of Pakistan.Through Distributions of Ramadan Ration Packs in Tharparkar Our Aim Foundation is dedicated to helping these families get ready for Ramadan.

The much needed Severe drought continues to make life miserable at Tharparkar adding to the ongoing struggles of its residents. Approximately 2.3 million individuals, constituting 23 percent of the rural population under analysis, find themselves in IPC Phase 3 (Crisis) and Phase 4 (Emergency). In this year alone, because of hunger,  the number of children lost has climbed to 1,435, presenting a grave threat to survival. Living in Tharparkar is not easy. It’s a vast desert area, the region is known for its harsh climatic conditions, where the unyielding sun beats down persistently, intensifying the already difficult circumstances.  Many families here struggle to find enough food to eat every day. They feel the pain of hunger in their stomachs, and having a good meal is a luxury they can rarely afford.

At Our Aim Foundation, we are committed to extending compassion and support to communities in need worldwide. Operating primarily in Pakistan, India, Malawi, Bangladesh, and Lebanon, we recognize the profound difficulties faced by the people of Tharparkar and are dedicated to providing assistance. Through our hunger relief initiatives, we tirelessly strive to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, especially during Ramadan, a time of heightened generosity and giving.

Dedicated Ramadan Ration Drive for Tharparkar:

For several years, Our Aim Foundation, under the banner of Hunger Prevention, has diligently conducted Ramadan Food Packs distributions. Continuing this long standing tradition, in Ramadan 2024, we are once again privileged to undertake the distribution of Ramadan Food Packs across 5 countries.

Our primary objective is to extend the blessings of Ramadan to as many individuals as possible. Through our dedicated Tharparkar Ramadan Ration Drive, we aim to alleviate concerns surrounding food for Sahoor and Iftar, enabling families to observe Ramadan with tranquility.

Every Ramadan holds significance, with Muslims worldwide demonstrating solidarity with their brethren in need through support for the Ramadan Food Appeal, Ramadan Zakat Appeal, and sponsoring Community Iftars in impoverished areas. This year’s Ramadan Food Appeal assumes heightened importance, as a larger number of Muslims than ever before require humanitarian assistance.

Through Ramadan Ration Packs initiative, we aim to ensure that every family in Tharparkar has access to an adequate and nutritious food supply throughout the holy month. Our commitment is rooted in the belief that no individual should go hungry, especially during a time of spiritual reflection and compassion.

Ramadan Ration Distribution Motive: Everyone Deserves to Eat!

On the 23rd of March 2024, Our Aim Foundation extended its hands to 400 deserving families residing in Tharparkar. These families, primarily from Village Karangri and its vicinity, were selected based on their dire circumstances and urgent need for assistance. Our earnest desire was to ensure that each family received a ration pack full of essential food items, allowing them to observe Ramadan with dignity and resilience.

What’s in the Ramadan Ration Packs?

Each ration pack provided to families in Tharparkar during Ramadan included essential food items to sustain them. The packs contained:

•  10 kilograms of wheat flour
• 10 kilograms of Basmati Rice
•  5 kilograms of chana dal and masoor dal each
•  1 kilogram each of tea and sugar
•  2 kilograms of besan
•  1 liter of cooking oil
•  1 kilogram of ghee
• Additional items in the packs:
• A packet of salt
• 2 packets of seviyanA bottle of Rooh Afza
• 1 kilogram of milk powder
