Education Success Story: Empowering Young Minds at Tongozala Village

“Our Aim Foundation School is located at the Tongozala Holistic Community Center in Tongozala Village, under the Traditional Authority Mkanda in Mchinji. The school is divided into two sections: the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Center and the Primary section.

In the Early Childhood Development program, most of the lessons focused on developing one key skill: listening and speaking. Activities such as reciting poems, singing, and oral questioning were regularly incorporated to help improve these skills. As we continued with this method, a suggestion was made to introduce an additional skill—writing. This new focus on writing was added to the daily lessons, alongside listening and speaking exercises.

The management at Tongozala HCC provided the ECD section with essential writing materials, including exercise books and pencils, free of charge. Though writing sessions were initially challenging, especially in the past term, the students have gradually adapted to the new system. Now, they are making remarkable progress and showing significant improvement.
